Episode 8

This post is happening as we are watching the episode and I can't beleive that there are only 2 episodes left after this one. :(

Tonight, with the help of the old lady, we made Cheif (Spring) Ty-rolls. It was in honor of his flub at the end of the last episode that cost the fleet Hera. The Ty-rolls were filled with brocolli slaw, vermicelli noodles and baked tofu. We dunked in some peanut satay sauce and chowed down. Time to think of two last dishes before next week. I hope that Starbuck really isn't a harbinger of death.

Episode Seven

Battlestar is coming to an end and there isn't much time yet. The action is picking up on the screen and in the kitchen. I went with Tori-talini pasta for this episode. I made the pasta from scratch (not too shabby!) and filled it with a curry potato/spinach blend that was quite good. Megan suggested a mint sauce that comes with papadum in Indian restaurants.

Episode Six

Sorry for slacking still. I am going to post three in a row to catch up and make up for my lack of posts. At least nobody is watching this blog yet. I am just hoping someone from the industry picks it up before ComicCon and I get a book deal! For episode six I was feeling like something sweet so I went with good old Gaius (Peanut Butter) Ball-tars. They were delish and I miss them everyday they are not here. Cheers!

Episode 5

This week I whipped up some Caprica 6 Layer Dip on my own while the wifey was at hot yoga. The layers included were (refried beans, avocado, salsa, black beans, tomatos, "cheese") a tasty treat and they were accompanied by homemade corn tortilla chips. I don't have a clever name for the chips, but they were as delicious as this week's episode. The return of Ellen was welcome and things are finally in motion after the side story that opened this season. Time to start thinking of what to make for next week.

Episode 4

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. School has picked up and things are hectic. Also, there was a mishap with the pic of this week's food item, Boomer Brownies, so you will have to use your imagination. The reason they are Boomer Brownies, is because like Boomer, on the surface they appear to be one thing but a whole lot more is going on underneath. Boomer was the first known Cylon in the fleet and the only model to go against its own kind. What appear to be your good old run of the mill brownies are filled with a peppermint twist! My old lady used peppermint extract in her recipe to give an unexpected, and welcome surprise! Well, until next time.

Episode Three

Episode three didn't fail to entertain and neither did the delicious Colonol (Pad) Tigh that Megan whipped up. Grilled tofu, a peanut satay sauce and some rice noodles added up to be as tasty as the hanging ending on this week's episode. I am pretty sure that even Sol wouldn't have poisoned Ellen if she was capable of dishes this devine. Even if she was fraking a cylon and passing information to them, he would have fought the urge and thrown down on some tasty morsels! I am hoping to add recipes to the blog soon, but with school and all may not be able to too soon. Hope all is well with everyone on the interweb.

Episode 2

For week two we got a little more creative. I think it is fair to say that even Felix Gaeta couldn't resist the beauty of these potato skin jobs! Filled with some vegan cheese, fakin bacon, green onions and garlic salt. Not even the most loyal human would turn his or her back on these. No ambrosia this week (there was an incident with the Midori), but it was still a delicious fraking snack as the drama continued to unfold. I am not sure what the final call for the menu item for week 3. It may be an homage to the fifth cylon or we may toss a bone towards Mr. Gaeta in honor of his increased roll in next weeks episode. Until then, may the Gods be with you!
